The Rookie Baker Goes Weight Watchers!
By the title of my blog, you can imagine that I like to do a lot of baking, and I do. I also like to eat a lot of the baking that I do. This has done a number on my waist line. I had a wake up call on Tuesday when I had my 6 week post baby checkup and realized I had only lost 7 pounds since Luke was born 7 weeks ago…he weighed 6 pounds 4 ounces. I decided it was time to do something about it, so after a long, teary phone call with my mom, she convinced me to join Weight Watchers (she’s been doing it for several months and is doing great!). One of my very best friends is doing it along with me, so between her support and my mom’s, I think this will work very well for me.
So, what does that mean for The Rookie Baker? I will obviously focus on healthier eating and thus healthier recipes. I will start including the Points+ values of any recipes I make for anyone who might be doing Weight Watchers as well (I will also go back and edit posts to add the points if it’s something I’ve made and posted before). I get some bonus points that I can use for treats throughout the week, so I will definitely still be baking, just less frequently for awhile.
